cover up light with hockey tape to protect from scratches?

have you cover up the flashlight with black hockey tape to protect from scratches?

The light is easily get scratches.

I think scratches, dings and other signs of use make a light look better.

I'm with Phantom on this one. Scratches or other minor signs of use add character to the light, so I don't do anything to protect them. No, I don't like scratches or dings, but it reminds me that I use my lights and don't baby them.

I try to buy lights with finishes that aren't as easily scratched, but I don't lose sleep over it when it happens.

hmmmmmmmmm. i never have done this. if you don't want a scratched up light you should buy 2 of each and put one of them up and not use it.

I use tennis racket grip tape, but not to cover up scratches. It gives a very solid gripping surface.
