I just came across this thread in the MFG section about a new Lumapower compact 18650 light that will be out this week. This looks like a light I have been waiting for. The dimensions indicate that is is just about as small as can be and barely larger than the Fenix P3D. 21.5mm diameter and 115mm length. I have been pleased with my Incendio.

I was initially very interested in the Jetbeam ST since it looks to be a fantastic light but I have read concerns about efficiency at medium and lower output levels. It is also a bit wider and longer than the new Encore. I just might have to try one of these Encores.

Wow, people have been asking for this for a while.
Only problem i see is the reflector. Its the same size head as the incendio. I upgraded from an LM33 to an incendio however the increase in brightness wasnt that extraordinary. I think this is because to make it a small flashlight they shrunk the reflector. The LM33 was slightly wider but significantly deeper. I would have preferred a slightly deeper reflector over just trying to make the flashlight a few mm shorter.

An Encore has been sent to selfbuilt so a review will be along relatively soon.

If you like the Incendio you'll love it's bigger, brighter 18650 using brother. :)

Looks interesting very much like what we've been wanting. Lumapower continues to listen. :D
But now I have to ask the killer question... how well is it regulated on 18650?
I'm interested in seeing some reviews as well.

 .. I sure do hope they make the battery tube large enough .........
to insert ALL 18650's ........

including the PROTECTED variety !!!

I'm also hoping for a very low-low ..... and no strobes or S.O.S.

And it needs a hole for lanyard / plus a removable pocket clip !

I hope they do it right .

Some quick answers:

Low is pretty darn low.

Pocket clip is removable.

No room for a lanyard 'hole' a lanyard would be attached to the clip.

Fits Ultrafire 18650 with PCB - that's how I'm powering the one on my desk. Will check some others later. Might have issues with flat top cells because of reverse polarity protection -will test that also.

No SOS, no STROBE. Can Activate on HIGH or on LOW - your choice.
