Need to read the whole article! He used a "wood buck" (jig) system to form the aluminum panels, just like the factory did. The actual finished product is Al body over tubular steel space frame, probably stronger than the original!



Actually, an incredible feat of home engineering!! Kudos to him!

I remember seeing this on TV a while back (I think it was this one). Nice job for sure!

10 yrs in the making wow, i think the real thing is cheaper if you into account the labor and the cost of the parts to build this.

It's not made of wood. He just used the wood to mock up the body before shaping the aluminum panels. There's nothing unusual about that.

How 'bout this guy?

Unfortunately the "intellectual property" attorneys are probably on their way to punish him. I hope not though.
