...VERY WINDY AND SNOWY CONDITIONS EXPECTED THIS WEEKEND...

A SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN THE WEATHER IS EXPECTED THIS WEEKEND AS
A STRONG COLD FRONT BRINGS MUCH COLDER AIR TO THE NORTHLAND BY
SUNDAY MORNING. THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF A COUPLE INCHES OF
SNOW WITH THIS FRONT...MAINLY ACROSS THE BORDERLAND AND ARROWHEAD
OF MINNESOTA SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT. THERE IS ALSO A
POTENTIAL FOR SEVERAL INCHES OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW SUNDAY THROUGH
MONDAY ACROSS THE SNOWBELT OF NORTHERN WISCONSIN...ESPECIALLY
ACROSS THE GOGEBIC RANGE.

IN ADDITION TO THE SNOW...NORTHWEST WINDS WILL INCREASE RAPIDLY
SATURDAY NIGHT. WINDS AROUND 30 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS ARE
EXPECTED THROUGH THE DAY SUNDAY AND INTO SUNDAY NIGHT.

PLEASE MONITOR THE LATEST FORECAST FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE IN DULUTH FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND POSSIBLE WEATHER
HEADLINES.

Ouch. I reach for a jacket when the weather drops to the mid 50's. My Florida blood is still flowing through my veins, and even Atlanta weather is too cold for me. I would never survive up there.

I will have to add a post in here in January, it will seem like a heat wave then ;)

They are saying we are supposed to get snow here as well. I guess we are already past the average first snow fall date so we have been lucky so far.

Winter is coming?!?

I'm in Japan right now but when I left Alaska the end of September it had already been freezing the ponds for a couple of weeks and we'd had 6" of snow in the yard. It was snowing on me and freezing my fingers my last day at work, on September 30th.

Everyone keeps asking if I'm cold; definitely not! I'm sure it'll be cold when I get back just before Christmas though!

That would be so cool! I think the most snow we had here in the past few years was like two and a half centimeters.... and it only took a few hours for it to turn into mush.
We did have a few days of frost (enough to get some nice pics) tho.

Read THIS, then tell me if you still think it's cool. :)

I think the dark gets me as much as the cold or snow. In the wintertime I almost always go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. When I hit the big one, I'm going to winter in South America so I always can live somewhere, where it is light more then 12 hours a day. Kind of anti-flashaholic I know.

Someone from Fairbanks posts here. I keep tabs on their weather and they already have been below 0 degrees F.
