Hi guys, I've been scouring the internet lately for information on green lasers. But I'm confused on one thing. If you go to Amazon they are claiming to sell green lasers at 20-40$! Apparently The leadlights 105, and 110. And the lasers from extreme laser. Example:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000MSDP5W/?tag=cpf0b6-20

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002M65NM/?tag=cpf0b6-20

Are these things worth buying? Where is the best deal I can find?
How long is the battery life on a good greenie btw? Do you have to use lithium ion batteries?

Thanks,

-Omega.

Another vote for AtlasNova. I've purchased from them more than once and have always been satisfied. They're straight shooters and stand behind their products.

What mW of a green laser pointer do you need to be able to see the steady green beam in a lighted room? I'm interested in getting one..and that astlasnova site has 5mW ones for 50$ - Would that be sufficient or do I need a higher end one?

My modded one which is 75mW or so can just barely be seen in a lit room, you have to be staring down the beam. To see it in a bright room you probably need one around 150mW or so.

I've purchased 3 green lasers from Amazon, one 5mW, one 20mW, and one 50mW. the 5mW and 50mW are the best lasers i own (they're also like the only lasers i own, lol). they are definetely worth it, especially becuas i spent $47 total ($42 for the 50mW and $5 for the 5mW) i definitely recommend them if your lookin for a cheap laser to experiment with

What amount of mw is needed to be able to pop a baloon?

My 75mw green dragon (78 actual avg) pops dark balloons in a second.

And where is it possible to buy strong lasers?

Dealextreme if you are outside the US, which it looks like you are. (at the moment)
Or check the BST section here or on LPF

50mW can do it in a few seconds (mine takes maybe 3). and you can buy strong lasers from Dragon Lasers, NOVA Lasers, Atlas Nova, Sky Lasers, Deal Extreme, and many more places. if you live in the US and your looking for a cheap laser thats real powerful, it isnt possible to find if you want to buy from a dealer. all FDA regulated lasers that are powerful are also real expensive
