What mod?

I am looking to mod a light for the first time and have no idea what host to get, possibly a maglite? And was wondering if anyone had any ideas, i also have virtually no idea what to do so any advice on bulbs/led's, drivers bateries and any other stuff would be very much appreciated. I have at my disposal a soldering iron and about £110 (180$). I just need a light that is quite a good thrower and has an output of at least 1000 lumens the more the better and runtime is not really important. It will be used for camping and airsofting so if it could light newspaper that would be even better. Thanks for any help in advance

1000 lumen and incan if you want fire starting. It might still take a bit for the heat to build up.

if you want near instant fire, then runtime will have to suffer quite a bit.
