Please help - Torch recommendations?

I hope you guys can help point me in the right direction in choosing the right torch for my needs

I was originally lookin at the SSC P7 which is meant to be 900 lumens
but after reading reviews here it does not appear to be this bright.

I need a bright torch or light source that should be battary operated or rechargable for a photo project im working on

The reason i wanted the SSC P7 was because of the strobe mode

Any help would be great the torch does not need to have a strobe mode , but would help, or must have a switch or button that would allow me to turn the power on and off quickly to simulate a strobe effect

SSC P7 is just a type of LED. It is the Seoul(company) P7(model) and not the name of a light.

What do you need the light for? Maybe more info about your project might help.

Also what kind of beam pattern would you like and how much runtime?

How quick of a strobe?

What did you plan on using before?

My suggestion is for you to buy a P7 LE from Datiled and get a real nice host for it.....:naughty:
Serach for Aleph Mule for a host that is...
B/S/T for the LE....

You get strobe and all other kinds of BLING which
you program yourself.....

Like the others said, it would be useful to know exactly what you're trying to achieve.

Taking a guess - if you're trying to achieve the kind of effect where you freeze the motion of something at various points, you might be barking up the wrong tree. The 'on' period in the strobe is quite long, so you'd end up with a series of blurs on anything moving quickly. If that's your aim, you'll be better off going straight to a strobing camera flash.

easy manual strobing with a forward clicky on romisen rc-n3!

well, if you have twitchy thumbs.

get a fenix LD20
(or the older L2D model)

also very bright, strobe, much better quality than any P7 crap lights, after 1/2 an hour of running also brighter
