Hi Guys,

Here's a custom build with the latest d2flex from Taskled.




- Finned head mag host ( approxmate 1D size )
- P7 DSXPJ bin ( 800 ~ 900 lumens )
- Metal MOP
- UCL lens
- Run on a single 18650 li ion / AW D Li Ion
- Green glow pedestal
- Custom sleeve to accomodate 18650
- Custom heatsink
- Modified tailcap to suit 18650 lithium ion
- Latest d2Flex Driver ( UIP: 5 level dimming, flashlight use optimized )

• Direct Drive with Dimming
• Utilizes PWM for dimming control
• uController based
• UI-UNI firmware

Here are the improvement on the d2Flex:

(UI-uni new Firmware):

The new UI-uni firmware unifies the previous UIF, UIP and UIB2 firmware into a single release. This has the advantage of providing the user with a choice of 3 of the most popular TaskLED UI's in a single product. The user can configure via the menu system which of the UI's is active at any time. UIF and UIP also inherit the temperature sensing capability of UIB2 along with the new 3 level voltage monitoring capability.

very nice light. Is it designed for AW 18650? Would Emoli 18650 work as well? AW 18650 batts are a little longer than Emoli.....again very nice build....very tempting:devil:

how many Ampere does the driver puts out to the led?

This is a direct-drive driver with dimming capability. The maximum current depends on your battery and charge level.

You're able to use a D-sized li-ion by simply removing the 18650 sleeve. This way you're able to keep the light to its maximum for a longer period.

Works very well. They have the protected and the un-protected ones. I use the un-protected one. It's acceptable because the dimming driver cuts off at certain voltage (~2.7V :thinking. You will not run into a situation where you're over-discharging the li-ion.

I can check later if the protected one fits (because it's slightly longer).

I just tried all of the following cells and they all work good.

- KD protected D Li-ion
- KD un-protected D-Li-ion
- AW protected 18650
- AW protected 17670
- Trustfire protected 18650

I don't have Emoli to try but the modified tail cap spring can be easily adjusted a bit to fit the battery.

Yes, it work with AW 18650 and buttonless positive side 18650 li ion like the Emoli.

Hi toby_pra,

The current draw really varies like Visible EM Wave mentioned. I experienced about 2.8 amp ~ 2.95 amp on the average as it is a direct drive just with PWM control. And wiring and batteries plays a part. That is when I kept the wire to the shortest possible just enough for me to reach and solder.

You can do something like that if you have this charger with a D cell cradle.

It should, I have one that is exactly the same but not built by Bright and it is still focusable.
