The new single led Proton Pro? Or the Nitecore D10?

Tough question, define better.
The D10 will be brighter. But the Pro has the low low red mode.
The D10 doesn't have blinking modes. The Pro has them tucked away due to a very nice UI. In theory the D10 should be more durable, however theory and the real world don't always agree. In some ways this is an apples to oranges comparison, the only common fruit factors being that they use a Cree and AA cell.

If you want the red, or want blinking modes, get the Pro. If you want a bit brighter or don't like blinking modes for any reason get the D10. If you like them both then perhaps buy both eventually.

Reliability and durability, which one is better? Based on this criteria which is the better choice?

I like the interface of the Pro better. Although by feel, the nitecore feels tougher.
