Do you have a specific purpose for your edc? Could it be as simple as using it to take the trash out to the curb or does it serve more complex needs?

Just curious...

I use mine to cut through the woods at night when I get home from work to light up the trail to get to the house.

Thanks,
Dave

I EDC lights for 'what if?' scenarios. I don't use them regularly like some here, yaesumofo for example, but I like knowing they're there if needed. Most of the time when I'm bored at work, I'll pull my PD-S out of the holster and start playing with it, just shine at random stuff. Batteries tend to last me a very long time

Going by the "two is one, one is none" rule, main EDC is a Ti PD-S and the backup is an EX10 on keychain.

I have some lights that are certainly for specific purposes but as far as an EDC light goes I think the point is something that is good at many many tasks.

If I am going to carry it every day it has to be a pretty well rounded light and be very tough. Right now I'm looking at the Fenix SS LD01 and thinking it might serve me well as an EDC.

I use my flashlights and knives more then just about any other items. As for the lights they get used for all kinds of little tasks, working on a computer/car/whatever, dropped something under a desk/cabinet, power outage, Halloween prop at work, etc. etc. etc.

For me my EDC light does get used and quite a bit. I want a low low, a decent medium and 80ish lumen high. For me the HDS/Novatac lights have been perfect for me and have been what I have used for the last couple years, with the Novatac 120T being my primary at this time.

I use my lights every day...

From the mundain task of taking out trash, to just finding something in a dark corner, or the crap I drop that small thingy under the table/bed/workbench whatever.

Batteries dont seem to stick around here very long.

I will "steal" some of your thoughts cslinger...if I may. I carry two small pocket knives and three lights with me virtually 100% of the time. I use the lights (this is a lights forum mind you!) frequesntly throughout the day and night---working on my car, repairs about the house, searching our mystery noises I can't see without a light...a million different things. Prior to addiction to the hobby I carried nothing but in retrospec, missed more than I will ever know.

I'm a user of opportunity. No specific needs, but I can always find a dark corner. Mostly I'm just playing.

Mine is mostly play also with an E01 and alternating between a 120T, EX10 or L1T depending on my mood. I will admit to get somewhat excited when a real need for a light comes up. sick I know.

I'm impressed brighterisbetter EX10 on a keychain, man that must be some keychain, how about a pic..

Romisen RC-N3-Q5 gets used regularly ~20 minutes/day sporadically throughout. Inspecting telecommunications rack equipment.

It gets dark early so I use it walking home from the bus stop daily. My street is not very well lit so its like a good friend accompanying me at night.

It fits snugly in my belt pack with some backup cells too.

My situation exactly - in NYC there is almost no need for a light after dark and my occupation does not require one either.

However, I am most afraid of the subways breaking down or losing power (has happened to me twice now) or God forbid another blackout or terrorist attack - to that end, in my bag I carry a Surefire E2DL or E2L, L1, Ra twisty and glo-toob li plus spare cells and mini survival kit.

On my person, I carry an arc-aaa gs that I use often to check my mailbox.

All my other lights are for fun and when I'm out in the country most weekends.

I use my EDC lights (Fenix L0D and JetBeam JetCLE v2) at work, at home and on the go. Some example are as follows - at work I use it to light up under the raised floor for checking/running network cables or looking under desks if people have their computers on the floor. At home I use it to check under my car seats, working on my car at night (+ I clip a LED lantern to the hood). On the go I use it to check the floor of a movie theater if someone drops something or light up a trail hiking through the woods. So basically, I use it when the need to light up a dark environment comes up. Pretty simple and basic if you ask me. Oh, and when zombies or vampires attack, I use it against them. :twak:

Im in and out of military persanl carriers at work, some with no power or lights, So Im using it all the time.
I normally use my p3d on med or high, I started using my d10 with a lanyard with clip on the end so I could hang it.

Also I play alot, showing people how sad the mini mag is. I ordered a Zebra light H30 hopefully to get it soon.

I carry my Microstream in my shirt pocket (cause it's so cute!) and/or my G2 in my belt holster, just because I can.:twothumbs Really, I have found that there are lots of times when you really don't NEED a flashlight, but if you do have one it makes the job much easier and/or saves time from having to go find one (that may or may not work, and is usually a POS with almost dead batteries anyway). I am living with my mom right now and taking care of her (late stage Alzheimers) and it can be truly mind-boggling what she decides she needs to keep and where is the right place to store things. I go on almost daily search-and-locate missions in the drawers and cupboards, and a flashlight is very useful to have along.
