Since the main claim to fame (sorry about the poetry) for the DBS is its throw, I'm wondering why one would want a diffuser?

I was just playing around.. I only left in on a few minutes. I just thought it was cool how it made a flat beam..

Throw was the main reason I got it.. I also like the R2's output.. :)

Was it a white plastic sheet?

It seems like the way plastic is made causes the effect. I'm thinking that there are tiny grooves or whatever running parallel down the plastic which makes the beam flatter.
