Cree and moissanite

Wow it looks like cree is pretty much the only supplier of the crystal form of SiC, silicon carbide, AKA moissanite. I bet whoever makes the gems are stinking rich because the raw material is cheap and I see some jewels as high as 800 per carat! That's almost as high as diamond, for a lousy diamond simulant to cost that much is ludicrus.

Does anyone have any idea what the cost to say "Charles and Covard" (sp?) be to prodoue the moissanite?

I love it !! :)

Speaking of gems here is my my 80 carat cubic zirconia it would pass as a diamond to most people except it is so ridiculously huge. But it is sparkly :p

Moissanite actually has more luminance/"sparkle" than diamond, and much better heat resistance too. But since it's artificially created, it's not worth as much as diamond.
