I recently bought both an led and halogen bulb for my twin bike light.

This uses a single battery rated at 13.2v and the fitting is an MR11 bayonnet.

However, the LED works fine in both of the lamps, the halogen only works in one of them. I have tried gentle abrasive on both of the pin-like contacts of the halogen bulb but to no avail.

I have also peeled off the reflective cardboard covering the ceramic connector to reveal the spring loaded contacts, and gently filed these as well.

However, whilst the LED works in both, the halogen stubbonly works in only one. I have also tried this with two other halogens, with exactly the same results.

Any suggestions please?
