2x Cr123, or Rcr123 or a 18650 Battery for 6pL

Me again , XD just want the best for my wittle 6pl.
Runtime at full lumens(malkoff M60)
2x cr123(Surefire) = Hours
3x cr123(Surefire) = Hours
2x Rcr123 = Hours
3x Rcr123 = Hours
1x 18650 = Hours

an extra cr123 adds about 45mins ish?
less for a Rcr123?

You can rule out a 3-cell configuration too.
So you're down to two viable configurations, 2xPrimary or 2xRCR123

Well the 3 cells was with using an extender but heres some shots at
11feet, 1st one is 10feet because i randomly took it at the front of the dresser and not the other ones, Cam is a pentax Optio s12 at 12mp. So what i'm wondering is why does the m60 mod and the SF's p60l look to be the same when the m60 200+ and the p60l is about 80 lumens. I know that lumens are the measurement of light at an illuminated object, so same distance, The M60 should be almost 2.5x as bright? vs the p60l?? any ideas

Left side is the Fenix P3D(which just does a super fast strobe at high and turbo mode, turbo strobe is its normal speed but all 3 modes seem to run at about half the normal lumens it ran at before. Right side is some random one i had laying around(nothing special)

Oooh... a cell extender got it. I missed that piece of the puzzle.
I have always have found white walls very miss-leading, when evaluating for brightness. the DX14442 and 11836 look identical against a white wall, out in the field however the 11836 is noticeably brighter and throws farther with a bigger hot spot. Its slight but definitely noticeable, and is most apparent at farther distances.

Take the lights outdoors to an open field, the difference should be more apparent.

Also... if you are using an automatic-everything camera, set it to manual and fix the exposure settings, use the same settings for every picture. That way the auto settings do not compensate for brightness variation... the very thing you are trying to show.

I have seen pics that made a 12Lumen streamlight nano appear as bright as a 120Lumen E2DL

With a cell extender, either 3 primary cells or 2x17500 rechargeables. Other barrel options are available at Lighthound.

The P60L and M60 will both run on a single 17670 if you want to. The M60 will spend roughly the first 25-50% of the run in regulation, then give you steady dimming for awhile, (god way to extend runtime). Exact behavior is dependent on the Vf of your LED, so it's hit and miss. The P60L requires more like 4.5V to be in regulation, so on a single li-ion cell, it has already dropped out of regulation and is basically running as a sort of direct-drive w/resistor mode, which can be useful if you want a lot of runtime (several hours I would venture to guess) at a reduced and steadily dimming output.

IMO, if a 9P size light doesn't bother you, instead of spending $$ on an extender, pick up a FiveMega 2x18500 body (I think he still has some left), they are on sale right now for around $30 IIRC. Run either module on 2x18500 for the best rechargeable runtime in a 9P size host.
