Imagine how tight the focus could be. Does anyone know the "mechanics" of this? What excites it? What emits the light?
It sounds like it is a tube that emits light, More details?

I think i remember reading about this a few months ago in New Scientist. they are Carbon nanotubes, a form of carbon with 60 carbon atoms. back then, they were talking about making monitors/displays with this stuff, 1 vacuum tube per pixel.
