Help with a minimag AA upgrade

I have a minimag AA that currently sits unused, partly because it never seemed bright enough and also because i damaged the reflector (stood o it, ooops). Id like to put an upgrade into it so it can be a more useful torch for times when i dont want to carry my borealis.
It needs to be bright, as bright as possible really and i am willing to sacrifice runtime for this, as long as i can get between 30mins and 1 hour of good light that will be enough as i can always carry spare batteries.
Id like to still be able to focus the beam if possible (although i would need a new reflector)
Most important factor is i dont have that much technical expertise in electrnics so it needs to be pretty simple although i could handle basic soldering etc.
It doesnt matter if the upgrade requires specialist batteries.
Price isnt too much of an issue really, but nothing super expensive.

So any suggestions? i would be very grateful for any help, having browsed this forum for a couple of days i can see that you guys know your stuff!

Copy and pasted from above thread.

Minimag(2AA):

LED:
  • Terralux TLE5EX drop-in
    • Good output but lacking a bit in heatsinking
  • Super MJ LED drop-in
  • Terralux Ministar2 TLE-5UV, Ultraviolet drop-in for the Minimag.
  • Nite-ize 3 LED drop-in
    • Floody and similar output to the stock maglite. Good runtime. Nite-ize info.
    • Check your local stores.
  • Nite-ize "1 watt" drop-in.
    • Decent output for a Luxeon I(III?). Decent runtime. Info from Nite-ize.
    • Check Target and the like.
:welcome:

I just installed one of those TerraLux lamps. AA Minimag is now one of my most used flashlights. It was pretty limited to its uses in original incan form.
TerraLux clickie tailcap switch is also a good addition.

Thanks for the info guys! How do any of these upgrades compare to the Tesco 3watt CREED torch? Is it worth just buying the Tesco torch, its pretty cheap at £8 and im thinking most of these upgrades will cost at least the same.
