considering buying an ARC LS premium. would like more throw than flood. anyone recommend high or low dome? any shots for comparison?

also, why not use a reflector with a side emitter luxeon? anyone tried a mod like this on an arc ls? i'd think it would be insanely good throw. but may end up looking like a ring?

thanks
Leon

The reflector would be too small to create a good throw for a side emitter. It would need to be the size of a mag c/d light to capture enough light. Even a high dome needs to have a larger reflector than something the size of a Brinkmann Legend or minimag to do the job well...

If you prefer a good throwing LS, you may want to take a look at the Blaster series of lights from Elektrolumens. Or you can alternatively request some of the modders here to build you a light designed for throw.

I forgot to mention you can also grab yourself an EverLed and dab it into a focusable head for a good throwing LS...

High dome for throw. Low dome for more of a flood (still way better throw than standard 5mm LEDs). Side emitter is designed for use with a reflector and not NX01 or NX05 optics.
