Please correct me if I get any of this wrong:

The KL5 had a Luxeon 5-watt LED in a reflector, with a boost regulator.

The KL5A has a Seoul P4 LED in a reflector, with a buck regulator.

The KL3 has a Luxeon III LED behind a TIR optic, with a buck regulator (but at a much lower current than the KL5 or KL5A).

Ok but what about the head itself. They are the same right? im talking about the dimensions of the metal. the KL3 isnt smaller than the KL5 is it? kinda like how the KL6 is bigger than the KL5.

Without taking them completely apart...the main (Center) portion of the KL5 is about 4mm longer than the KL3....and it is a completely different design inside both.

Yep, red, blue, green and white of course. Mine has a blue led and I was quite suprised about it´s output when I received it a few days ago.
