I recently got a UNIQ Cree Q5 drop in for my Z3, and it's pretty impressive... it's maybe a tiny bit brighter than my Fenix T1 on high.

But I can't help thinking with 3 cells to power it, there could be more

So help me convert from incan mods to LED ones.... where do I go from there?

I'd like to keep the batteries the same (3 cr123s) and if possible the size of the head, as it's all nicely balanced. Are there better drop-ins or any ideas for games I could play? I'm not afraid of a soldering iron, and I've been looking for an excuse to buy a Dremel ;)

Have you looked into the Malkoff Drop-ins?

They are built tough-as-hell and VERY bright!

Check 'em out!

In my opinion, they have BY FAR the best build quality and have an amazing beam profile.

The P7 in a P60 light is a waste, but the MC-E should work out nicely. Finding a propper driver shouldn't be too hard...

If you want a P91 like floodbeam (with 3x the light) though it's perfect, you just won't get a superthrower out of it is all.
