A standard 6P/C2/C3 tailcap can be modded for 2 stage (long thread)

Not sure about the G2 tailcap
wmirag, I'm with you. A 2-stage Malkoff set-up in the G2 would rock. There are various threads out there on this subject. The bottom line is that modding the G2 tailcap is really only possible with the older, non-lock-out version.

I've emailed Gene (aka Mr. Malkoff) before asking if he'd consider doing a 2-stage version of his drop-in so we wouldn't have to worry about modding tailcaps. He didn't seem to think it was on the horizon unfortunately. Maybe he'll reconsider!

As far as I know, a two stage tailcap or tailcap mod is the only way you'll ever get 2 stages with an M60. I've already discussed this with Gene myself and that's the way he looks at it too. Bottom line is that his driver design is solid and I guess he doesn't want to mess with it.

Exactly what I wanted but for a G2/M60 combo.
I paired a Malkoff M60 with an Mc2ES switch to prevent overheating the LED. It's become my favorite light for nightly walks/hikes as the low mode allows sufficient illumination with full power available as needed. I love the feel of nitrolon in cold/wet weather.

Thanks for the heads up on this, I had no idea AW was knocking these out. I'll have to get one for my 6P, but which tailcap to mod, I have both the original one and a clickie....

I do want to mention that I asked AW about his tailcaps via PM. With his permission, I quote his response:

And then there are posts in that same thread from users who say it works on Malkoffs as well.
