I modded a 6D with a bid d bulb and also tried modding it using 8aa's with the 6d magnum star bulb. Here are the results:

the 8aa star vs the 6aa big D looks to be similar, but the spill on the big d is so high I think the camera automatically darkened everything a little more. Still you can see the 6aa vs the 8aa is a lot dimmer.

I found that a penny works well to make a contact by jamming it into the spring.

A place in need of light.
Nice job, I see I'm not the only one with a cheap camera who uses negatives to show brightness difference:whistle:, it may be a weird way to compare brightness but it sure works:thumbsup:.

i bit the bullet and got a malkoff drop in, the rop will go into the 2d as soon as the reflector and battery adapter come in from kaidomain.

if its the same cheap battery adapters they have been selling for a while watch out they are not able to take high current draw and will either have way to much resistance or melt..

just an FYI.. reflector is good though i have heard but don't forget for the ROP you need a Glass lens also as it will melt..

Personally i just made a battery pack with 6aa's using film canisters. "Perfect fit for 3aa's in a D-Tube" and charge them using one of my old hobby chargers from my RC Days..

its those same ones, i dont see how they could be any worse than using film canisters.

But can you elaborate how you used the canisters? maybe take some pictures?:huh:
