Saw a light at Lowe's today that I've not seen before, and may be of interest. It's from their Kobalt tool line. It's probably a Cree, runs on 2 CR123's, has two levels, is rated at 90 lumens, and is priced at about $48. I was surprised by the relatively low lumen rating, but maybe they're being conservative. I'll be skipping it, but it might actually be a pretty good light.
