It's about the voltage. P2D and LD20 bodies hold 3V. LD10 body 1.5V. :)

Thanks I knew this on the L1DCE's but was wondering if the LD10's were the same as the heads are labeled as they came LD10 And LD20.

I was just wondering if they are the same as side form their markings.

So the answer is no?
A P2D on an LD10s body will not have the LD20s output as 1.5V is not enough to get it to maximum output.
A P2D on an LD10 will basically be a LD10 with the "older" P2D/L2D/L1D HEAD.

Hope that makes sense.

Both heads are exactly the same just with different markings.

The heads for the L2D, L1D and P2D are the same. The heads for the LD20, LD10 and PD20 are the same. The only reason the LD10 and L1D heads get a few less lumens on turbo mode is because of the lower supply voltage; the single AA can't give enough juice for 180 lumens. If you give the LD10 head enough volts, it'll happily give you 180 lumens on turbo.

The L1D and L2D are not the same, the L2D has a texture on the reflector, the L1D is smooth.

Maybe, they existed in both versions, but the rest is still the same. I wish one of mine were an OP, I have two SMO... :mecry:

I have had both the L2D versions - smooth and OP reflectors. Incidently there was very little difference in the beam pattern.
The L1D also came in both OP and smooth reflectors.

hi
I am new to this forum.
But man, theres so much info out here.
May i ask a question?

I wanted to buy a LD10 or LD20, but heard that running e2 lithium will cause the low modes to be lost.
Are there any other torches that will be affected by the e2 lithium? I found it strange as the batts is specify as 1.5V.

hope i can get some help from u guys..thanks lots.

If you run Lithium Ion (3.6V) in the LD10 the low modes will be lost, should be okay with the e2. If you run Lithium Ion in the LD20 your flashlight will be lost. :poof: :) e2 in the LD20 is okay.

Welcome.

Thanks lots Nake.

I emailed my Fenix dealer and the reply i get was :

e2 lithium = 1.8V (fresh out of the pack)
so 2x e2 = 3.6V = exceed LD20's
3.3V max. for low mode
so answer = YES

But IMO, its only 0.3v, shouldnt take long to reach :D
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is there another e2 out there ?

Actually, i was just referring to the Energizer e2 lithium (primary= disposable, right ?) batteries. It was rated at 1.5V

So i can run Energizer e2 lithium on LD20/LD10 without any lost of modes ?

I have an L1D but I also have an L2D body. Just so I'm right here, if I had a 3.7v single AA cell in my L1D then I'd get 180 lumens on turbo and everythign would be hunky dory?
