Hey guys just got a Nitecore Extreme for Christmas, but my constant fiddling with it has made the threads really squeaky.

What can I use to lubricate them?

I've got some Tufglide, Zebco Reel Oil, and some WD40. Will any of those work?

Use the zebco reel oil. Do not use the WD40 the WD stands for water displacing and it gets gummy after a while. Not sure about theTuf glide.

Clean the threads first using rubbing alcohol and a rag; remove the o-rings first, get the threads as clean as possible, then thoroughly coat the o-rings in lube before putting them back on, then lube the threads.

If you're interested in getting a flashlight-specific lube, the three most popular choices are Nyogel 760 (http://www.lighthound.com/NyoGel-760G-10-gm-tube_p_6-1343.html), Nanolube StClaire (http://www.nanolube.com/), and Sandwich Shoppe Krytox 50/50 (http://theledguy.chainreactionweb.com/product_info.php?products_id=710).

Hey StarHalo.

I think I'm going to get one of the Nano Lube. I'm probably going to get the $16.00 tube with the needle applicator. Which weight should I get for oiling the piston in my Nitecore Extreme as well as the threads?

Thanks in advance!

David

I squirted on my NDI's threads a drop of generic lubricant. I had to actually remove a lot of it, since it had made it too easy to turn...

10 weight seems to be the most popular for our flashlights. And it might seem expensive, but keep in mind that a thimble-full of lube will last for many months on many flashlights.
