1st mod by dim bulb

I just found this sight and am excited to get going with some maglite mods. My 1st project was to make the mini mag hotwire . Unfortunately, the first set of parts that I bought included an original reflector that promptly melted on my new bulb. So I bought another bulb and a 17 mm IMS reflector from Lighthound. This reflector cost $5, and I assumed it was alluminum. However , it arrived today and it looks like plastic. Does anyone know if the "IMS 17N" from Lighthound is melt proof, before I wreck another bulb?

Also, if it is plastic, where can I buy the right reflector?
