Yep, I was able to get one that already had the thickened, non-slipping rubber grip. This light is pretty awesome, great throw from a 2AA (a little more than the TF 2C Cree even), nice color rendering, and built like a TanK. The beam is also extremely clean considering it's coming from a smooth reflector. Dead flat regulation, even with alkalines on turbo! I can't say enough how much I like the grip, also. I would have been pretty disappointed to get one of the older, less tight, slipping grips.. I did get the yellow one though, and it's easy to tell which version you have since the newer yellow one is a much brighter yellow. How does one tell with the grey grip, though? A brighter, cleaner-looking grey, I would guess.. Obviously the new grey one wouldn't slip either, but I wonder if it's appearance looks any different from the older one..
