This KL4 head has seen some wear, but now she sports an M-bin MC-E emitter and diffuser film for a bright, artifact free beam. The body & tailcap are in great shape. $135 Sold

Nearly perfect L4 with the same mod as above except with a

$150 Sold

For those looking to trade, I'm looking for an L5 head & clickie tailcap (or the whole light) a U2 and a C3 battery tube.

I'll take the $150 Nearly Perfect L4 with MC-E.

Re: Two SF L4s modded with MC-Es!

What sort of runtime does this setup have?

Can it be run with a P17670 cell?

IS the beam pattern comparable to Lux KL4?, if not is the pattern wider or shallower?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Two SF L4s modded with MC-Es!

The beam pattern is a little wider, making it even more of a wall of light than stock.
The original driver is still in there, so runtimes and battery options will be the same.

More info:

The battery tube on the remaining L4 (K-bin is spoken for) won't take a 17670 without boring.

ArronM does great work.

I have a U2 that he modded, and it has become one of my favorites.

Cheers.

Is the diffuser film on the outside or inside of the lens? Also, would you consider splitting it and selling the KL4-HA by itself?

Go to the link in Post #4 to see a beamshot comparison with a stock KL4. It just HAS to be double the output over stock.

What's the tint like on the remaining L4?

Re: Two SF L4s modded with MC-Es!

Emitter info:
MCE4WT-A2-0000-000M01 WH tint, M-bin

If you don't compare it to a warmer tinted LED, it just looks very white. Pretty standard tint much like other good cree lights.

Edit: Diffuser film is on the inside of the lens.

Re: Two SF L4s modded with MC-Es!

It arrived in the mail today. But it just stopped working in short order. It started just flickering when I turned it on. Then it would only flash briefly when I click the switch. Now it won't turn on at all. :( At first I thought the battery was dead, but I've tried several fresh ones that worked in other lights.

Thanks for the quick reply and offer to repair. Thanks, I'll be sending it in the mail. I don't mind the extra wait.

I like a CPF'er that stands behind his work. :)
