I recently ask flashlightlens.com if there are plans to offer a UCL Lens for the Dereelight DBS.

I got this answer:
"Jan,
At this point, not yet. The more requests I get though for a lens though, the close it will get to being produced. If you can get the support of a bunch of others (on CPF or whatever), I'll seriously consider it.

Success - we've done it :)

Well i have bought a lens from flashlightlens.com for my Dereelight DBS!And it fits great! Why do you want seperate?

The original DBS Lens is 43,3 mm - you have bought the 41,7 mm right?
I have read there is too much space and you need another 0-ring...

The goal of this interest list is to get an perfect fitting lens

They call it similar, but it is not the UCL lens.

Yes, it is not UCL. UCL has greater performance. A Must update for DBS V1 that has a simple glass lens.

I checked again guys, yes, you are right, it is the 41,7mm lens.It works well for me though,I have it over 6 months without any problems.
But there is a space of about 1,5mm.

What improvements will I be getting If I were to buy one?

Sorry have no idea

A better transmission performance...
according to flashlightlens.com:
"Transmission rates are about 99%."

I just tested my DBS v2 3SD Q5
With the lens in place, I got a representative illuminance at 1 m of 30700 lux.
Without the lens the corresponding number was 35600 lux.
This means that by removing the lens, the illuminance in the hot spot increased by 16%.
So if you can get me a lens with 99% transmission rate, I am in!

Best regards from
Jens

Would this UCL be the same thickness as the current DBS lens? I'd be in for two, or three (maybe get one for my Dad's DBS v1 I got him). :)

One DBS for me.

I also tried the closest flashlightlens (The one for the Tiablo) and it didn't work at all with the o-ring.

I'd also consider the C2H lens. The original coating became cloudy and easily wiped off, now it's just glass.
