Hi,
I was ordering some 14500 li ions today(yes I found DX site lol) and I was thinking about this.
I have a P6 and a P5 here , they seem to be the same but the P6 has 2 AA cells... so uses a max of 3v in the same led.
My idea was to put a 3,6v li-ion protected in the P5... I dont think it will go :poof: but will it kill the led that fast?

Anyone tried this already?

Regards,

The 14500 has around the same watt hour as a single NiMh battery, just at a higher voltage.

14500: 3.7v * 800 mAh = 2.96 watt hour
Good NiMh battery: 1.2v * 2400 mAh = 2.88 watt hour.

I'm not sure if it will work because I have never read about it working or not and I don't have one to try. Neither LL P5s nor 14500s.
