Anyone tried rechargeables in dual-output E1L or E2L ?

I've tried searching around for this info and I'm having a difficult time finding a definitive answer...

Does anyone know for sure if running 3.7V rechargeables is safely do-able in the dual-mode E1L and E2L? (potentially 4.2v in the E1L and 8.4v in the E2L). :thinking:

The KX1 head on the current E1L does not run well on 3.7V. It flickers from low to high every few seconds.

As for the KX2 on the E2L, I believe it will run on two 3.7V rechargeables, but can't remember if it's safe to do so.

I know that the KX2 CAN run on a single 3.7V cell, but with a reduction in runtime.

Anyone tried rechargeables in dual-output E1L or E2L ?
