I am looking for the meanest, baddest, and farthest throwing 2XAA light. don't just think of OEM lights, but include modifications, upgrades, and the like. I was thinking of the Lumipower D-Mini w/. the AA battery tube and smooth reflector. any thoughts?

The Fenix TK20 throws pretty well for the 2AA light. Swapping in a cool white LED should increase the lux number.
IIRC there was a thread where someone had a Maglite sized head(from a Aleph?) and used a 2AA body.

As I said, for two AA I would buy a T25 T BUT now I have seen the TK40 I am rethinking whether I want a 2AA or an 8AA!
If you want 2AA then either the TK20 or the T25 would be good. The TK20 has a more neutral colour and is a bit bigger and bulkier.
