Hello, i recently got my brand new M30, from Gene, and im using it in 18650 bored 6p, it is very bright and all BUT it has a very ugly beam profile, it has a donut hole in the center of the beam, and it gets more obvious with the distance.
My question is this normal on M30 or do i have a faulty pill, i cannot compare as this is my first Malkoff product. your input as always greatly appreciated.

That's a property of the optic. It's very difficult to discern in non-white-wall-hunting use.

I have also ordered an M30 from Gene for my bored out Surefire 6P and i hope that it doesn't have a doughnut hole.

Yes it is a "Cree lottery" thing. If you aren't happy with it contact me via the website or with a phone call. We would be happy to exchange it for you.

Thanks, Gene

My M30 has a slight donut when using it to whitewall hunt BUT in the real
world it is not noticeable.
It also has a off-centre hotspot. Again in the real world it is not noticeable
I can live with that
