RIP Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and J.P. "Big Bopper" Richardson.

I learned tpday that Buddy Holly's career was only 18 months long, yet he managed to get 17 songs on the charts, and a couple of those made the Top 10. That's an amazing accomplishment for a 22 year old kid. How many people can say they accomplished so much by that age?

Buddy Holly is one of my favorites. I love all of his songs. I wonder what his music would have evolved into in the 1960's and beyond, and I also wonder in what ways he would have influenced other musicians had he not died at such a young age. He's a true American Rock and Roll icon.

And to quote John Milner in the film American Grafitti, "Rock and roll has been going down hill ever since Buddy Holly died."
