I had some made before for that illfated HDM6 project



This Short Tail-Cup can be used with my 6x17500 carrier for M-Zep mods and the carrier and cup design could also be used with a version of the PhD-M6 (programable hotwire driver for the SF-M6)

6x17500 Carrier


The PhD-M6 would have to be a design similar to the JS-Willie Hunt M6R LVR3i and I am not sure what stage the PhD-M6 is at exactly (must read that thread properly)

Pete,

I'm not sure if your particular model of tail-cup will work or not, you may want to confirm, but....

I've been using a version very very similar to yours that when used with a PVC pipe spacer, can allow the user to use 2xAW LiON "C" cells. This has been my means of using a rechargeable setup in the Surefire M6 as well as a few modded lights.

If yours can use the 2xC cells I'm sure others may be interested in addition to the battery configurations listed above.

I'm interested in theory.

However I have zero modding skills. In fact I destroy everything I try to fix. :laughing:

So, my interest is dependent upon the removal of the existing tailcap
and replacing it with the short tailcap being completely easy and foolproof
AND the 6x17500 slotting in with no adjustments necessary and again being easy and foolproof.

If any degree of intelligence or skill is involved in replacing my existing set-up, then I shall leave well alone.

Should be straightforward ! ! !

You can see if part of the process is possible by practising part 1. SF-Std.TailCup removal.

1. Pull SF-TC
Grip central spring pillar using finger and thumb or pair of pliers if needed. Pull - Cup should release fairly easily. Use a cloth if you wish to avoid any marks using pliers. May need small wiggleing motion !

2. Replace - pretending this is the new STC

The Carrier is simply loaded with 6 cells - 3 stacks of 2 cells - each stack is placed in NEG end first - NEG towards the spring. One stack is reversed in orientation still with the NEG to the spring.

POS end of carrier goes in first as with std. cells and FM carrier. POS end has a spring as standard.

Cells do tend to try to spring out of carrier at any possible moment so the carrier has to be loaded and gripped as it is fitted ! ! !

I have managed all this and don't feel it is beyond most - but I will try to get a photo description together soon to help . . . and if you or anyone feels this is all too much I understand.
