Toenails - OK, I\'ve Said It!

I consider myself a manly man but if there's one thing on my body that needs constant grooming, it's my toenails.

I still use some brand-name clippers that I bought a couple of years ago but the time has come to raise the bar and buy world quality Dovo Solingen Toe Nail Clippers.

I saw these in a catalog for over $30 but, by using Google, I was able to locate a pair at only $11.50 each.

I guess the question for everyone here is, "Am I being too vain?" I don't think so, afterall I like the finer things in the world of flashlights and kitchen utensils (ceramic knives of all things). If I don't spend my money on these "luxuries" I'll just have to send it to Sacramento to help defray the states budget crisis.

Does anyone on this forum agree with my philosophy?

Well... it has been said... only by a few who know me well enough to be able to get away with it... that I am thoroughly anal about my feet... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif If that's what they want to call it when I take very good care of my feet and give myself weekly pedicures and put white polish on the tips ala French Manicure... well, then I guess I'm anal about my feet.



Yes, I have a picture of my toes. That is how anal I am about them. I'm proud of them too. Because they are still straight and little and cute... even after Army Basic Training. I'll never forget this chick telling me in basic training that my cute little feet were going to be destroyed in the Army. Most women I know HATE their feet. Probably all those years of stuffing them into high heels. Fortunately for me the high heels never affected my toes like that [ha-ha- hey its a JOKE! I'm not into heels...uh never mind]

My dad taught me a little trick once that he said he learned during his 30 odd years as a merchant marine to avoid ingrown nails. Cut a "V" shaped notch in the middle of the nail. He said it makes the nail grow so that it will close up the gap, pullin git away from the edges.

I went out with an Asian girl once who would cut my toenails. Sadly I have yet to get any American to do so for me.

Hmmm. Those clippers from A. G. Russell look very much like those from Heimerdinger's. (see model 505 005).
