I am new to the site. I have been reading up on "throw kings". I am very impressed with the Tiablo A10, but I am having a hard time judging the size. Is it too big and heavy to mount on a long gun?

What are my options for a long range light so I can research some?

I would like someithing that would let me get a shot off on a coyote at 200 yards.

As I recommended in your other thread, the Super-Tac from Streamlight is about the lightest thrower I know of that I think would hit 200m.

If your going to be making the shot with some type of support there is no problem.

If your going to make a 200 yard shot on a coyote using nothing but your arms I'm impressed.

There are plenty of universal waepon light mounts out there you should have NO problem finding a way to mount it. IMO if your going to be laying down or using your knees or something to support the rifle. Go for it.

Off topic.. do you have some kind of tactical rifle like the M1A? How do you plan on mounting anything without rails.

I have a MTE 5 mode, two 18650, 52mm reflector, P7 for long range rifle, t does 200 yds as maximun but does it well. It fits one inch rings too. Got it DX.

not too heavy and can be used with my tactical pieces too.
My N30 HID handle is a one inch tube and can also be under slung for 3200 lumens but is a tad heavy, more for off a rest.

I own the Sunlite Eagle 8w and would highly recommend it for gun mounting and tactical purposes. http://www.powerledlighting.com/Eagle8W2200.html

It has over 300 lumen's from a single emitter. Advertises throw of 600ft, but will go much further. More like 800-900ft comfortably. It has a 1 inch body for gun mounting and has a bezel diameter of exactly 40mm. It is smaller than it looks, and is very lightweight!

Check out a review of it here: https://www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/217294

I would say a Derelight DBS V3 attached with a 1" mount. The DBS is a well-proven, reliable light. Hard Anodize Type III with double O-rings at each end. It will easily light up a coyote at 200 yards with the smooth reflector and an R2 emitter. The Eagle 8W mentioned looks interesting, but I would trust the proven DBS (which is less expensive) over this light. My opinion is that the A10 would be too large.

This is the model I'd recommend:

DBS V3 w/ 1SM-2 Cree XR-E WH R2 (SMO) - $126

Thank you for all of the help guys. I am thinking I may go with either the RaidFire Spear or the Derelight.

Who has better customer service and support.

Will any of the recommendations in this thread have any problems dealing with the recoil of a .223?

Think about the Olight M20 Warrior with SMO, they have a real good gun mount in their programm, The light has a good size for you. Ithink Tiablos are to big for this.

Ah :) Now I'm with you. Got yourself a carbine.

To answer your question. They will all be fine. Half of whats recommended is kind of made for these situations and the others are just that good.

TW tested the M6 on a .50 bmg and it lasted forever. I know for sure that will withstand anything.

Can a tape switch be used with these two lights?

When you hit the button up top to add a webpage it already adds the http://
If you also add that part it will mess up the link.

That is a nice gun though.

I read on some forum it is illegal to hunt with search/spotlights, lasers, or active optics, like red dot sights, and illuminated cross hairs.

Deer and such, yes.

Coyote, no.

They are the enemy of farmers and some people who live in the country.

Just pretend the OP has a lot of chickens :)

Didn't know anyone outlawed illuminated reticles...

Night vision, IR, flashlights and lasers are a no no here for normal hunting though..
