No bounce test here but i have owned both and both are great lights with entirely different beam patterns.
I would think that the RA on high would light up a dark room a little better because of the more flood like beam due to it's deep, light OP reflector.
The L1's TIR optic is more throwy, so at ceiling distances it's beam will be more concentrated (just my opinion
).
On another note, the stock L1 will not tailstand whereas the RA will.
