I really like the incandescent-like tint from my Dereelight with Q3-5A.

Now i'm looking for a single AA with the same warm color on the LED.

Is there a single AA with 5A tint out there in the flashlight jungle?

Or do anybody know if any manufacturer plan to make single AA with 5A tint?

The light that comes to mind is the stainless steel Jetbeam E3P with the Q3-5A emitter, with 100 warm lumens from a single AA.

You could swap the emitter on a cheap light, or a D10. (Though doing so will void it's warranty)

I hope manufacturers will start offering the warm LED on either their current or future models. I'm considering on purchasing a Lumapower ConneXion X2 and hoping to pay someone to swap out the Q5 LED with a Q3 5A. Anyone capable and willing to do this please contact me.

Thanks for the tips on Jetbeam and the one on marketplace.

But i prefer a normal black aluminium flashlight :)

Fenix have TK20 with a warm emitter. Maybe we will see this LED in a single AA later?

ZebraLight offered a few of the new H501 models with Q3-5A, but they are sold out right now. They may have more later. The zebra can be used easily as headlamp or small pocket flashlight (angle light).

That's true... I also have one of those on the way!

Eagletac is now offering their 2AA P10A2 with a Q3-5A emitter, along with a few of their CR123 lights. They may give this option for their P10A (one AA) model as well, but as of yet they aren't offering it.

Let's not forget the brand new Nitecore EZ AA, which can be preordered with Q3-5A!

There it is......One needn't look any further. Preorder this now and make sure to add in the comments that you'd like to get the 5A Q3 in there. 15 lumens at 20 hours or roughly 100 lumens for 90 minutes on one AA. I personally can't wait to stick one of my Powerex 2700's in there for a runtime test. The ones I have have a great slow discharge rate at idle and have served me well over the years.

Just what I did.

I am looking forward to having a good, simple AA with decent output and great runtime too. Plus the great natural emitter option!

Copied from Mjolnir (post# 12): Eagletac is now offering their 2AA P10A2 with a Q3-5A emitter, along with a few of their CR123 lights. They may give this option for their P10A (one AA) model as well, but as of yet they aren't offering it.

How can I order one? I just went to EagleTacStore.com and I didn't see the Q3 5A offered?

Thanks.

I recently purchased a torch from a certain well known chinese website that suprised me with its incandescant style tint. It was an Ultrafire 6 mode C3 which can take an AA or a 14500 cell and is well warm! Here's the photo, on the right is the C3 on the left is an NDI ( Both on max with 14500 cells.)

As you can see, almost like a filament bulb.

The tint was unexpected. The cree is apparently a Q3. The phosphor on the emitter is much darker yellow than on any other Cree I own.

Very nice light otherwise - slightly touchy tailswitch as is common with these cheap lights - 1 in 5 I would say. I wouldn't say that the tint was the same in all these lights unless somebody else has noticed this.

5A isn't warm it is neutral.

I think of it this way:
<2500 K CCT red
2500-3000 warm-warm white
3000-3500 neutral-warm white
3500-4000 cool-warm white

4000-4500 warm-neutral white
4500-5000 neutral-neutral white
5000-5500 cool-neutral white

5500-6000 warm-cool white
6000-6500 neutral-cool white
6500-7000 cool-cool white
>7000 blue
