im thinking about picking up a tk10 but not a big fan of cr 123 batts. im pretty sure i can run it on a 17670 but what do you guys think the pros and cons are. runtime should be better with 17670 right? or does the high voltage of the cr123s make up for the lower overall combined mah?

TK10 has built in low battery warning (flickers). It will flicker all the time with 17670 battery. Rather take TK11 that is designed to work with 18650.

tony, whereas i love the r2 led, it has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with the power level going to it, hence the regulation.

i have dropped the tk10 sale, and may or may not find a tk11. i found a mte p7 two mode flashlight in my office i didn't even know i had, so poo on me for ordering the 5 mode last week. oh well. i think that blows away the tk11 anyways, with the same battery.

thats great news. i heard rumor of that elsewhere. however, in that post and in another thread too, a person referrenced the r2 led itself as containing some sort of regulation. it has nothing to do with the led. if in fact that is true, then new tk11 has 2 upgrades.

1. r2 led

2. regulation for 18650

it must be made clear that they are NOT related to each other. thanks for the input marduke, sounds like the new r2 is the one to get for us power junkies.

The TK10 flickers on high with the 17670 but runs fine on low and last longer than 16340's. TK11 R2 with 18650 will be better though.
