Streamlight propoly 3C

A few months ago i decided to "upgrade" my streamlight with a new driver and Q5 led. Well, i have got it back together some what, but in testing i can't get the led properly placed. First, i cant get the LED to the right height to focus the beam. Second, its extremely ringy. Any thoughts? at this point i'd even send it out if someone has expereince with this light. I really liked everything about this light, except the output.

any ideas are appreciated

With the Cree XR-E and a smooth reflector, you will always get a ring around the hotspot. That's the LEDs fault(the metal ring around the LED's die). The Seoul P4 works better.

The focal point should be where the Luxeon III(or was it Luxeon I) was. If your out in the light, try sticking something in the reflector hole(with the reflector perpendicular to the light source) and seeing where the light is most intense. That is probably where the focal point it.
