I thought i read a Thread about a fl that had some major throw .I need this light to look around some rental homes and apt buildings after High winds come through .Under $ 500.00 Would Be Great THx

You could also build yourself an apsherical Maglite. The aspherical Maglites have a lot of throw :D. Really like mine and you can clearly see objects 300 yards away. And it is pretty easy to build you only need to know how to solder.

If you're into aspherical Maglite, Kaidoman has a kit (led + aspheric lense combo; cpf consensus seems to be that these work OK together). I am still waiting for mine to arrive. . . I don't know how this kit compares to Rayman's kit or any of the other solutions, but there's A TON of information about them at this forum.
