my only experience with a twisty switch is with a maglite. i'm wondering if better flashlights have a twisty switch that clicks like a rear clicky?

If you find a twisty that clicks, be careful not to confuse it with a clicky that twists.

There's none that I know of that exist right now. I don't think there's a purpose for it.

A "clicky twisty"?

Why?

you know- like an electronics knob that clicks when you turn it, so you know that you're turning it. the maglite that i had just felt junky when i turned it. i'd think that higher quality lites would have higher quality twisties, that's all.

How about just a clicky switch. Very easy to tell when you click it.

Or do you mean a twist switch which select different modes based off location? Those tend to be expensive due to the added complications.

I wouldn't mind a head twisting twisty that would click through different modes, such as low, high, medium. You would be less inclined to twist past the setting you want that way.
