I got my P4 emitter and thought I would put it into my romisen , but the controller board developed a short and bla bla !

Anyway , I put it into my MXDL

I put some non-conductive thermal paste on the holly heatsink , and soldered the emitter in place .

Actual Lux readings at 1Meter are down 240Lux , there is very little throw after the mod , in fact there is no real hot spot of any kind , it all seems to be flood now .

3xAAA Alkaline = o.57mAh current draw . I hope a 18650 will fit .

Anyway , ill do a beam shot tonight .

Well , I lowered the reflector , so that the LED sat a little further in , and lux readings are up . Stock MXDL 800Lux , now 1150Lux with much stronger flood . This from 550Lux , so I guess its important to get the reflector right .

MXDL with P4 .

Mini Maglite LED 2xAA

Now with the MXDL I thought id clean the reflector , some one painted on the silver color , and now I dont have a reflector , so its back to flood .

I dont know , the P4 might be wasted on the MXDL

The LED's die has to be at the focal point of the reflector for max throw.

Now might also be a good timeto buy a new reflector or try an optic.
