I prefer Phoenix, especially since my wife (when she was a child) thought my avatar's name was Phoenix the Cat.I've always though that phen-ix sounds nicer than fee-nix.
In China, the Dragon represents the emperor, while the Phoenix represents the emperor's wife (emperess?? :thinking.
If you think flashlight brand's pronunciation is hard, how about watches?
