TLE 5EX vs mini mag 3AA?

hey guys, im wondering how which one is more powerful, i have recently bought a TLE 5EX Cree for a mini mag 2AA and have run it on 2 eneloops...

really, i am pretty amazed with the output... its amazing.

but how does it compare with the the 3AA minimag LED and a modified 3AA with SSC P4 in place of the lux III?

The MinimagLED 3AA is around 55 lumen with the Luxeon, so I'm guessing 110 lumen for the Seoul swap.

hmm... and the TLE 5EX is considered 140lm so i guess thats it...

but im wondering how it is since the 3AA version is brighter than its 2AA brother... how high would they really be driven? is the 3AA overdriving anything? and is the 3AA mag better heatsinked than the Terralux module?

ehh... i dunno but thanks, ill just see which one is better overall.

Neither one of the MinimagLEDs are well heatsinked. I think the LED is directly touching... Plastic (and a bit of metal, but not much). The TLE5EX at least has some heatsinking.

The 2AA one has a different driver then the 2AA one. I don't think anything is overdriven.

sounds like i should go out and get another 2AA mag and a TLE 5EX and probably do the washer mod for longer runtime....
