A nice, cheap, and flexible battery case

CaseLogic makes a small leather case intended for digital camera media. It can hold a lot of batteries, or just about any other small object.

As you can see, it has loops for four AA batteries, but 123s fit fine, and you can also squeeze two AAAs into one loop. Additionally, AAAs fit nicely in the mesh pockets on the bottom half intended for CF or SD cards. The large loop holds my USB SD card reader perfectly, though you could cram three or four AAs there.

The best part? It only cost $5 at CompUSA.

I know it's leather and all, but does it do a good job of protecting the batts from the elements. I've always used some kind of waterproof holder.

Cool, my dads fixing to go to Idaho for 3 weeks csmping and the only light I can get him to take besides his Pelican 3c is my E1E, this'll be perfect for it and a half dozen batts. w/a couple MN01's.
