How about a flashdark?

Wouldn't it be cool to have the opposite of a flashlight, a handheld flashdark, that you could use to selectively point and create darkness? It would have to use some as yet unknown, to me at least, particle or wave that would absorb light. Maybe physicists could chime in. The only thing I'm aware of that does this is the gravitational pull of black holes, but a handheld black hole generator wouldn't be terribly safe! :crackup: I was just thinking how useful something like that would be.....I'll bet the miliatry would enjoy such a tool too.

LOL flashdork.

I could imagine in a very controlled setting being able to direct a single photon to "intercept" another, but on a larger scale....no way no how....to much empty space.
