To some, this might be a holiday about rabbits, eggs, candy, plastic "grass", colorful straw baskets, and the like. But to others, Easter commemorates the day that Jesus Christ rose from the dead.

I agree. Easter is about Jesus raising himself from the dead. It isn't about a rabbit that lays eggs full of candy. I wonder what the guy who came up with that idea was on? Maybe he was smoking some fake plastic grass. That would be an interesting miracle to see as well, but it wouldn't warrant it's own holiday.
