I'm buying the stubby single CR123 Solarforce L2. Can I fit a battery tube and extra cell to it, or do I need a different emitter. I'm also buying a UV emitter. I've just made the order so need to know I've bought the right bits.

You need to see which LED module is in it. I while back, I contacted some of the Ebay sellers that carry the light you are talking about. I asked which module it had. Some had the 3.7-4.2v module and others had the module that if I remember right, accepts up to around 12 volts.

I like your way of thinking. Is there an emitter they, or I could put it the stubby that would work ok, or would it run really dim on one cell. They do a couple of lights that take 3-18v, but all the short 'M's run 3-4.2v.
I'm new to lego so I'm pretty clueless.

Pick any of the ones that will do 3-18V and if it is a long body version, then get a spare short body for when you want to use a single CR123. That is basically the rationale for what I am was trying to recommend.

Ok, I sent an email asking to change the order. Last question. If I run it with one cell, will it be half as bright as two, or just reduced runtime? And if I ran it with more cells (3 or 4) would it be brighter?
Thanks for your help.

No you will just get shorter run time ...

3.7-4.2v 5 mode
3-8.4v 5 mode
3-12v single mode [ Brightness may be affected with this one ]

If your going to swap n change Id recommend the first two pills ...

Either run single CR123A or single 18650 with the 4.2v
Or run single CR123A , 2 x CR123A or 18650 or 2 x 18650 with the 3-8.4v

Small clarification. Solarforce says there is 3,7-8,4V drop-in, not 3-8,4V.

Small clarification. Solarforce says there is 3,7-8,4V drop-in, not 3-8,4V.

Yeah , It varies .. The picture I saw of one said 3 to 8.4 ...

Just depends .. Ive seen so many different Pills offered ...

But ill stick to 3-8.4 as they wont run on Primaries , but will run on batts over 3volt ..

Geez , there are so many Pills offered , its just the 3 I mentioned , but I think there are variations .. So ??? There is the Blue / Purple / Red labels , and then the ones that just say Bright R2 , and then differing output levels .

When I got my first L2 , it was 3 to 8.4 , now as you said it seems to be 3.7 to 8.4 .. :ohgeez:

+ It might depend on the components they can get there hands on ??
Either way , I have 5 L2's ATM , that will do for now ...

But if they bring out a 4 mode L2 :ohgeez:, then it will be a new ball game .
+ R4 pills :broke:
