The wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I said I'd look around and see what might be nice

Didn't take me long to narrow the choices.

On my short list for her is the Costco Leatherman Blast and LGX200 combo on sale for $40., the Walmart Stanley HID 3000 for $70., and the Target RR 6v headlight. I already picked up the HID for her since I was there today, and she'll likely get the other two this weekend. It's going to be a nice bright birthday indeed! LOL

Think I'll be able to light the candles on the cake with the HID?

Thanks Zatoichi. Another great benefit to being a collector is there are never a shortage of lights to choose from.

I measured the Stanley HID with an infrared thermometer (not a very good one), and it read over 200 degrees F a few minutes after startup. Sadly, this probably isn't hot enough to light a candle.
